We all dream of finding the ideal soft, silky pair of pajamas; whether you’re looking to snuggle up next to a loved one or simply unwind with ladies night in. So then, what exactly is the low-down when it comes to nylon versus other fabrics for pajamas?

Nylon pajamas have some great advantages when it comes to nightwear. It’s comfortable, it’s known for being one of the most wrinkle resistant fabrics, and it has a nice aesthetic appearance. Pure nylon fabric is moisture resistant, which has the added benefit of feeling nice and sleek. However, nylon fabrics tend to have an elastic quality which can have the downside during hot summer months of feeling like the material is sticking to you.

If you’re picking out a set of nylon pajamas, be careful to accurately read the labels. Finding 100% nylon nightwear can require a bit of hunting around; oftentimes, nylon is blended together with other materials in order to increase its durability. Even though mixing nylon with other fabrics can make your nightwear last longer, it also takes away from the breathable, silky smooth texture and sensual feel of pure nylon nightwear.

Like satin nightwear, nylon will feel soft and silky against your skin. It is the cheaper alternative to purchasing a pair of pricier satin jammies. However, with less expense there also comes a lower quality of material. If longer lasting nightwear is your top priority, you may want to consider sticking to satin nightwear after all.

Nylon is a finicky material when it comes to being washed. Ideally, it should be hand washed in cold water. If hand washing isn’t really your thing, and let’s face it, who really enjoys scrubbing clothes in the sink, make sure to place your nylon jammies on the delicate spin using cold water.

If you’re tight on funds, selecting nylon nightwear can be a good compromise between sticking to a low budget and getting that sexy look you desire. However, if you have a little extra cash to spend or are looking to indulge yourself with a splurge, check out some of the longer lasting satin nightwear choices as well.
