Although I heard a lot about flaws of Victoria’s Secret bra fitting and bras that stretch enormously after just 2 months, this was the first time I saw my customer throwing out Victoria’s Secret bra to the can with such passion. Because let’s say honestly… why do they sell 36D bra to a woman with such small rib cage that can easily be fitted in to size 32 and DDD cup. Yes… because they do not provide much styles over DD size. And think about it, what it must feel like being dressed in a bra way too loose from the beginning and the same bra gets even looser after a month or two.
Sometimes you don’t realize that something is wrong with your bra until you actually have a chance to wear a really comfortable one. Comfortable bras mean well sized and fitted, not just beautiful and well advertised – like Victoria’s Secret bras. If you come to a small retail boutique like Lacy Hint (or other respected one) and have the time to spend on one on one fitting advise without
selling pressure, you start discovering how important is to know what size and style is just for you. Like not everybody can have a bob cut for a hairstyle, the same goes for intimate apparel. If you are a woman with breasts set wide, like a customer I have this story about, you should not wear a bra with a short single strap center bridge as it will not flatter your cleavage and will look awkward.
My customer was a mom of three with a lot of breastfeeding in her past. For women who have wide set breasts or even splayed breasts but lack the volume – firm breast tissue – I always recommend padded bras or push up bras. The best type of push up bras are those with removable padding, especially if your breasts are not even in breast tissue volume and you need more padding on one side than other. You can wear an insert only on one side, or you can make the extra push with extra padding placed in those hidden pockets. If you compare European brands to meantioned before Victoria’s Secret brand, you will see that Victoria’s Secret push up bras are extra padded all over the cup – even the top part, which does not give the push up effect but does feel extremely bulgy and hot in them. It is always more comfortable to have the padding where necessary (bottom or side and bottom) and leave the rest light and airy.
My customer left the store happy, leaving her recently purchased Victoria’s Secret bra behind in Lacy Hint’s trash can. Since what she liked about Victoria’s Secret bras is the cups decorated with lace, she was happy to find here the styles with rich lacy designs. The bra that fitted her best was Silana Beige and Steel Blue Lace Push up Bra. She also purchased Ti Amo Light Cream Push up Bra, both with padding that is removable. The customer matched Silana bra with panties, which feature beautiful lace panels on front and are completely see through (light beige stretch mesh) on the back. If you shop online at Lacy Hint, make sure to get 50% OFF on matching panties (use the code listed at checkout page).
