Japanese lingerie manufacturer Ravijour has developed a bra that works as “True Love Test” – it opens only if you are in love. Better than a “Smart Bra”? The bra is not for sale yet, however if you purchase lingerie for at least $50, you will have a chance to win a tryout at one of the Japanese hotels.
Japanese fashion is unique, engaging, and more than a little bit exotic. However, women who want to really rock this style are not going to be able to find imported Japanese lingerie very easily, as it isn’t carried by a great deal of American lingerie outlets and websites. More importantly though, Japanese lingerie is sized differently than American lingerie is.
How Are Japanese Bras Sized?
Well, Japan in general has small size lingerie. So before you decide to buy that colorful sexy bra you stumbled across direct from overseas, you need to know that all Japanese bras run small. So whatever the cup size the bra claims to be, chances are you should think about getting something a bit bigger. It’s also important to remember that Japan, like the rest of the civilized world, uses the metric system. So if you don’t know your measuremeants in centimeters it’s a good idea to get them before you start shopping too seriously. Some websites have a handy, dandy conversion program, but most of them don’t. So, in the end, it’s up to you to know what it is you’re buying.
Are You Petite Enough?
Japanese sizes may seem comically small to those used to shopping in America, even if you normally wear petite bras. However, since you’re the one shopping from another country, it would be silly to complain about it; it is what it is. Many American women, no matter how engaging they may find Japanese style or how much they enjoy the avant-garde sense of color and pattern, simply won’t be able to wear it. It’s not a question of style, but if a woman is too large (and even average sized U.S. women may be too large) then they simply won’t be able to fit into the style.
Always Read the Fine Print
It’s important to always read everything in a display for a piece of lingerie. It will list cup sizes and dimensions, but more importantly it will list return policies. It’s very important to remember that just because something online looks like it will fit, that’s no guarantee that it actually will. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you can return the purchase for either an exchange, or for a full refund. If not, then you might be stuck with something that looks good, but which you can’t wear no matter how you try.
